Different Types of Sanitary Stainless Steel Fittings
Do you own a restaurant, brewery, or food processing plant? Then you know just know important sanitary equipment is. In fact, without sanitary equipment, your product wouldn’t be good or safe to consume. The thing is, all your equipment must be sanitary––not just some of it. A lot of businesses get it right and use sanitary piping and tubing, but they neglect to use sanitary fittings as well. You can’t use just any sanitary stainless steel fittings—you deserve quality. We’re going to discuss the different types of sanitary stainless steel fittings that we offer in our guide below; read on to learn more.
3A Fittings
As one of the most popular fitting types, it’s not surprising that 3A fittings are on this list. Manufacturers originally made 3A fittings for the dairy industry, and while they’re still common in that industry, many other industries benefit from 3A fittings too. The majority of our 3A fittings come in both 304 and 316L stainless steel. A 304 fitting is suitable for most applications, but 316L contains less carbon than both the standard 316 and 304 stainless steel. 316L also contains a small amount of molybdenum to assist the lower carbon count in corrosion prevention. Finally, the 316L options are exceptional with high-heat scenarios, making them especially suitable when welding.
DIN Fittings
For those of you who like to use the metric system, DIN fittings are for you. DIN stands for Deutsches Institut für Normung (say that three times fast), which means the German Institute for Standardization. DIN fittings are most common in the petroleum industry, but they’re becoming increasingly popular in food processing. Specifically, DIN fittings are common with butterfly valves and gaskets, along with a variety of other parts.
E-Line
The key difference in E-Line fittings and clamps is that they incorporate a male/female design. Why is that important? Because it ensures firmness. Through flanges, ferrules, and gaskets, our E-Line sanitary fittings will reinforce your system for ultimate strength. E-Line fittings are especially common in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, but they’ve become very popular in beverage manufacturing as well.
SMS
At some point, you’ll need to connect one or more pipes to another, and that’s where SMS fittings come in. Whether you need fittings to weld pipes together or not, Trynox SMS fittings are among the most competitive fittings available. In fact, you can monitor your product through the Trynox sight glass feature.
As you can see, we offer many different types of sanitary stainless steel fittings to support our customer’s operations. Whether you’re a homebrewer or work with a Fortune 500 company, you need quality stainless sanitary fittings.
